Online Maps: Microsoft Live Search or Google Earth?

This post may fit more appropriately in another forum, but if so, I don't know which.

I've been playing with some online mapping tools lately. What really appeals to me is the ability to mark geographic locations and features, including paths (lines such as roads, trails, etc.). Google Earth seems to be the de facto choice for this, but I really like Microsoft's Live Search ( http://local.live.com ) because 1) I don't have to install anything to use it and 2) I can send my maps to friends as a link instead of an attached .kmz file. In other words, sharing and keeping a central "master copy" seems easier with Live Search. If I want the 3D effect, I can install Microsoft Virtual Earth. I'm not much of a Micro$%^& fan, but in this case, I think Live Search has the edge.

I've been building a Live Search map for some time like shaggy125's here: http://uutah.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5983. Just wondering if I should continue to use Live Search or switch horses and go with Google Earth. Any feedback regarding either platform is appreciated. Thanks!

That's the unfortunate thing about GE. You have to install it, and share kmz files only with somebody else who has it.

I'll have to check out this Live Search. I saw an ad for it today.

Is there a Tilt feature for LS?

There is a tilt feature if you install Virtual Earth (also free). I think when you go to Live Search, it will prompt you to download and install it, if you want. Let me know what you think of it.
