Doing the Maze area this weekend.
Myself plus two others are heading out to the Maze District Thursday night. We are planning on leaving SLC around 4-5 pm, and are hoping to at least get on the dirt road to Hans Flat in time to pull over and crash. Then, we will be swinging by Hans Flat to pick up our permit.
From there we will be looking to do several canyons, with at least one good two day hike through the area. We will be returning Monday evening.
Anyone going to be in the area?

I've been drooling over the Maze for a while...

Guess I'll drool a while longer. A buddy and I are headed to Big Bend Saturday for nine days of hiking.

I have a new Garmin 60CSX GPS I will testing for work, with our new mapping software. A box of batteries, and a few memory cards also. We take lots of pictures, but the narrating skills suck, but I will do my best.

kris,
i don't mean to hijack your thread but to answer brewhaha's question. yes it is an anasazi pot. and if you are in monticello then you are within about 50 miles or so from it. i had heard about this pot for years and with some detective work i figured out which canyon it was in and it took me 3 trips into that canyon to find it. its about 14 in. tall and the same in circumference. well worth the time spent searching.
