Trip Report - Grandeur Peak

On Friday, March 9, I traveled up Grandeur Peak with Lady the dog.

The short version is that this was a much more difficult hike than anticipated. I have hiked the trail several times during the summer/fall. However, that was with no snow. The entire trail was covered with snow. However, I did not need snow shoes, as most of the snow was rather packed. I certainly could have used ski poles. I had a winter coat with me, but took it off within 10 minutes of the trailhead. My neck got moderately sunburned. 3 hours up, 1 hr. 45 mins down.

I could tell from the tracks that I was the only person that made it to the top on this day.

Lots of fun. The dog did great. My knees took a beating on the way down.

I know The Steve (my dog) would love to get up there with me. He's not supposed to be hiking, but maybe we'll break the rules this weekend.
