Spring Canyon; Capitol Reef National Park

Spring Canyon (upper section) is a pretty but fairly typical Red Rock Canyon. An album is below:

Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

How old are the kids? What is your set up on a long hike with kids like that? Do you carry sleeping bags, food, etc. for them as well as your stuff? I would love to do a long hike with my kids but I dont think I could handle their stuff and mine.

Kessler turned four a few months before the trip.

Yep. My wife used to carry our youngest and I would carry everything for two children, my wife and I. It's not so bad with just one kid.

Anyway Kessler's done many hikes and is has hiked 14 miles in a day (age four) now. Some of his other trips are in the album below:

Anyway, hang in there. With a little practice and detemination kids can enjoy some really great and long hikes.
