Wind Rivers Backpacking trip was by far the best trip I had this summer.

Tell me about it! That has to be my top memory as well. I'm already itchin' to go back. I still can't believe we're talking about the memories of summer.
I wish my lawn was EMO so it would cut itself.

Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

I have a lot of great memories of the outdoors this year. After having gone on maybe a half a dozen days of hiking or climbing per year for the last while, I made a great effort to get out more this year - and it paid off.

    Among my best memories:

Solo backpacking in Dark Canyon (despite serious illness!)

Hiking the Virgin River Narrows and Orderville Canyon with a friend in September

And up to Overlook Point on the same trip

Back home here, Williams Peak (after 5500 ft of relentless uphill)

Solo atop Tricouni Peak, while working on developing a new route to the summit

And one of the best memories - taking my son up to an actual peak for the first time.
On the way up to Mt. Cheam. We also climbed a couple more this summer. It's not what Scott's boy is up to yet, but we're working on it!
