Just a heads up.... I would avoid canyoneering in Zion October 6 to 8. The ACA is holding their annual rendezvous that weekend. They have over 100 participants registered so you can expect all the popular rap-n-swim routes to be congested and permits to be at a premium. The ACA is staging out of the Zion Ponderosa so I would also expect everything on the east side of the park that does not require a permit to be clogged.

My usual suggestion for any rendezvous, festival or jamboree is to avoid the area and give them a wide birth if you are not a participant.

Along those same lines, SUWA is having a big shin dig down in the Swell this weekend. Although it probably won't effect canyons, don't count on having any privacy if you plan on being down at Hidden Splendor
