    Ben Lomond TR

Hiked Ben Lomond from North Ogden Divide Sunday. Good weather and nice trail going in. Some snow on the east side of the ridge going up. A little more snow after crossing over to the west side. Generally good trail since it was frozen to Bailey Springs. The snow was deeper on the summit cone-in places nearly knee deep. Coming out much of the trail was muddy and sloppy due to melting snow but still a great hike. I expect this weekend the trail will be pretty much dry and in great shape with the week of drying although I would expect to find snow on the NE facing side of the summit cone. For those who have never taken this hike I think it has some of the best views in the area. The round trip is over 16 miles but the trail is well maintained and at a very manageable grade for hiking especially below Bailey Springs. Still no digital camera for photos-next year!
