Blasting on Zion-Mt Carmel Highway, Zion National Park
A large unstable section of cliff next to the Zion-Mt Carmel Highway near the east end of the tunnel, in Zion National Park, will be blasted this Tuesday and Wednesday nights. The road will be closed from 6:00 in the evening to 6:00 in the morning September 26 and 27, 2006. The closure will be between Canyon Junction and the east entrance of the park. No traffic of any kind will be allowed. The blasting is part of a project that began on September 5, 2006.
