Constrychnine & Zero Gravity
Hit both of these canyons at different times last month.
Constrychnine was a lot of fun. Big rappels, water, deep narrows and stemming. We were fortunate to have cloud cover for most of the day. It would've been miserably hot if we hadn't. The 190 foot rap was very cool as was the drop into the "chamber". All in all, it took us about 5 hours from trailhead to trailhead. Beautiful canyon!
Zero G, as everyone knows, is a short and sweet romp through tight narrows and deep potholes. I'd been wanting to do it for awhile now and I can finally add it to the completed list. The bombay exit proved to be a challenge for me. I'm not a skinny little freak like some of you so I had to go high and my hips still got stuck. We ended up rigging a "horizontal rappel" (which is the only thing I can think to call it) to allow for a safe drop out of the bombay. It was much easier than it looked and once I was down, I didn't know why I stressed about it. The water was also welcomed as it was blisteringly hot down there that day.
I'm light on pictures, especially of the Zero G trip but we threw together a video which is linked below. Check it out if you're bored.

nice! thanks for the pix, TR and vid.
the 190' rap is great. i guess you all didn't get sidetracked this time checking out new canyons!
as far as the zero G bombay, it would seem better to err on worrying and being prepared for difficulties than to be caught off guard. i was a little worried too. i wrapped a rope around the chockstone and used it as a handline as i swung out of the constriction a little bit.

Wow.... Zero-G looks like it was packed with Water. The water in Zero-G is usually pretty clear, looks like it was cloudy for you. I also use the horizontal rappel from the top of the chokestone when attempting the bomb bay. It makes things simple.
How much water was in Constrychnine? Wading? Swwimming? or stem over the top? It was completely dry when we did it, which was a good thing because the temp was only 12 degrees.

You shoulda seen how quickly the snot-nosed scouts squirted through that bomb-bay in Zero G when I took em down last summer.
Ah....to be young and skinny again....It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.

i guess one place it could be added would be to northwash/cedarmesa to become northwash/cedarmesa/poisonspring, maybe?
i was looking for other TR like arscenic and slideanide that may have been missed, but it doesn't seem like there are any. it just occurred to me last night that it wasn't in the TR index, that's all. take your time, of course!

i guess northwash, rightfully so, is really a catch all for northwash, poison spring (constrychnine, arscenic, slideanide, adobeswale) and trachyte (trail, maidenwaters) much in the same way robbers roost is a catchall.
i do dig the TR index. did you mention a while back that you also wanted to try to tabulate all of the canyoneeing videos? as they are not being uploaded, does this still make sense, especially with the possibility that the links in the future may in fact change? there seems to have been a lot that have been shown the past while here.
