A newbie from SLC
Hi. I discovered this site through a posting Richard Barron made on the Yahoo Canyonlands group. I recognize ScottP on the Lonely Planet ThornTree. I regularly post on the TripAdvisor Utah branch, and my guilty pleasure is the Political Stew (www.politicalchat.org), an offshoot of the old Talk Politics branch on the ThornTree. I live in the Highland Park area of Salt Lake City. I have a passion for non-motorized recreation in Utah's spectacular backcountry. Hiking, mountain biking, road biking, telemark skiing, cross country skiing, etc.
Some of my crowning hiking achievements within the region include Broads Fork Twins (twice), Timpanogos, Ibapah Peak (twice), Coyote Gulch, and Pilot Peak.
