Trail of the Eagle - off of BST in Draper
Just thought I'd let you know they have made a nice addition to the "Trail of the Eagle" trail in Draper. There is probably at least 3/4 to 1 mile of fresh cut that leads to a nice overlook of Big and little willow canyons under Lone Peak (just south of Bell Canyon). They say the total length now is about 3 miles, and I'm guessing just shy of 3,000 ft of gain.
If you have not done this trail yet, there is a "Draper Trails day" on Saturday June 3rd and they are leading a hike up to the top of the trail. Someone has put in a lot of work and it could use some traffic. Much of the trail is out on the open, but there is also some nice lush forest area to hike through as well. The views of the valley are spectacular, as is the view of the rock cliffs when you reach the end of the trail. Check it out.
The trailhead is located off of the BST in Draper, just north of the Bear Canyon Bridge. Btw, they have more trail flagged but I don't know how far they plan on going..?
