Freak Accidents - Beware the parking lot light poles
Ok....since I am bored and can't drive for another 3 days, here is my latest story. I chalk this up to the kind of crap that only happens to me.
Beware the attack of the parking lot light pole!!
I was walking back to my car in the parking lot at Mimi's restaurant (Southtown Mall in Sandy) after having a late lunch with some friends on Sunday. A gust of wind blew really hard and the last thing I remember hearing was someone behind me yelling "Look out!" I didn't know at the time what hit me, but later found out that it was the top from one of the parking lot light poles and its glass cover flew off from the pole and fell on top of my head. I wake up in the ER.....my shirt is soaked with blood (mine) and the room is spinning like a top. I've got a major concussion, tiny slivers of glass in my face and hands, and a gash across my forehead. They kept me overnight for observation, but I got to come home yesterday. I have a giant bump on the top of my head, 2 black eyes and 12 stitches in my forehead. Good thing I wear bangs! Better yet, I guess it's a good thing I'm so hard-headed!Never regret anything that made you smile!

I am really sorry to hear that happen to you, having to go to the ER sucks. Got any gory pics?
I was looking out my window on to the street in front of my house on Sunday. There was a lot of debris blowing down the street. I remember thinking, "some of that could hurt if it hit you." Sorry to hear something actually hit someone.

I think of it more along the lines of "Murphy's Law". In fact, in my
family, Murphy's Law is the norm, so we have a saying we use called "Beyond Murphy" which is what happened to me on Sunday.Never regret anything that made you smile!

Sorry to hear your bell got rung, but gory pics are cool.

Sorry about your dome gettin whacked!!!
Any legal loophole you can exploit to get some $$$?
I say post your gory pics, but with a disclaimer so that those with weak stomaches can know not to look.
C'mon man, my second favorite website is Ogrish.com - your 12 stitches won't even compare to the stuff on that site!!!It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.

Thanks for all the nice thoughts today ya'll! It's nice to know you're loved.
No good drugs though...... To be honest, in these past
couple of days, I feel like I'm already stoned without even taking anything! I like that expression "getting my bell rung" Yep - that's what it felt like and my head is still ringing!Never regret anything that made you smile!

I'm sitting here at my desk on hold and read your story. Wow. Sorry about this accident. I can say one thing, I have it on real good authority that light poles are not supposed to attack people. Cheap advice: Take some photos of the scene and the offending light pole. Get your buddies to write some statements as soon as possible so as not to forget details. The more detail the better. Have they fixed the pole yet? Have someone check and snap some photos either way. (I'll stop now.) Hope you feel better soon.
