    The Canyonlands Anomaly

Why is it that Canyonlands National Park doesn't contain any slot canyons?

Or are they just kept secret?
It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.

Huh? Canyonlands does have slot canyons, and I didn't know they (at least some) were so secret.

Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

Aha, no wonder they are kept secret from you. I just noticed your avatar says Bolter of Slot Canyons. Bolting slot canyons is totally illegal in Canyonlands NP!

    Ya, that's a running joke....

When I got into the canyoneering game, I was all for using bolts. Then I took that anchoring workshop from Rich Carlson, and my perspective changed in a big way. I have since bought into the "no-bolt" ethic, and would prefer to rap from a natural anchor over a bolt any day of the week. Besides, building your own anchor is fun, and adds to the challenge of the sport.

It could be that Canyonlands is a longer drive for most people (especially us Utahns) than any of the other good slot areas, and a lot of areas are a long ways from roads or a long ways down dirt roads.
