I was up Days Fork on Friday. you could hear then bombing out avalnaches in both canyons. I am way glad I got snowshoes this year. It is nice to not have to wait until June to get up into the mountains for ahike.

ugh. days fork. i went there last weekend and it was snowing w/ about 2 feet of fresh powder already. very pretty, but i nearly died breaking thru that stuff. finally got sick of it after only about a half mile in one hour and came out. lake blanche trail was nice and packed. yay !

I have snow-shoed to Lake Blanche before. It was a blast! We did it last winter with 80lbs of gear on our backs. We were not fast getting up there but we loved it. I learned a valuable lesson that trip about not letting your water freeze over night. Anyway, that was one of my favorite snow shoeing trips!

    Here are some pictures:

Sweet Picts, thanks for sharing. By the way is that Kelty an Orb II? I just got me one, I guess I will have to put it to the ultimate test and go snow camping. I can't wait.

best way to make sure water don't freeze is bury it ni the snow. snow is an excelleny insulator and if you just "submerge" your nalgenes or whatever you will have nice watery water in the morning. for night time sips i keep one in the bag w/ me too.

My tent there is a Kelty Vortex. The other tent is my brother's it is also a Kelty (but I don't recall what his is called). I have loved my tent. My wife and I have had it for going on 5 years now, and we have gotten so much enjoyment out of it.
