Books for a rainy day
I dont do any winter activiteis, so I just sit in my house and wait for spring. (pathetic, I know. That is why I went to school this semester)
Anyway, I have read some books that I would recommend for a rainy day or to take along on a backpacking trip or next winter, whatever.
Epic-Stories of Survivial from the World's Highest Peaks
Clint Willis
Touching The Void
Joe Simpson
(also a movie)
One Man's Wilderness-An Alaskan Odessey
Sam Keith\Richard Proenneke
(also a movie (PBS))
Journal of a Fur Trapper
Osborne Russel, edited by Aubrey Haines
Between a Rock and a Hard Place
Aron Ralston
(We've probably all read this one)
The Facts of Life and Other Dirty Jokes
Willie Nelson
(Willie Rocks!!!)Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit, as vital to our lives and water and good bread
