Constrychnine
Here are a couple pics of what we did this past weekend 2/11/06. I can't really tell you where it is because the canyon doesn't have a name
I'll get the route descriptions and more pics and video up ASAP but this should get your interest up.

Here it is.....
The route description to the technical slot canyon we did last weekend.
Hemlock

This is a really good canyon, kind of short, but really good.

i like hemlock, especially since it was the ancient greek poison of choice.
but i also liked the word-twisting of poisons. there doesn't seem to be
too many well known poisons left that are amenable.
the only one i can come up with is
Constrictnine from Strychnine

Thought about calling the canyon "Hemlook". I wanted to keep the same theme for the group of canyons. I'm open for other suggestions on a good posion name because I'm not really sold on Hemlock. I like "Constrictnine".
This is a good canyon but every small group has its own name for it. I have heard it refered to as "Project X" and "Piton Canyon" and "The Piton Canyon" and "Slideanide - East Fork" by different groups. The fellers who first told me about the canyon 4 years ago didn't have a name for it.

So that is my thoughts on the pitons in the area.

I liked Stefan's name much better so I renamed the canyon. It is now known as:
Constrychnine
http://climb-utah.com/Powell/constrychnine.htm
I changed up Stefan's spelling to work more with the posion theme.

I like that spelling better!
So this guy guy art, exploing slot cyns in remote utah 20 years ago, compared with classic zion. very cool. i'd love to hear more about art and others like him, exploring such areas before it became popular. it'd be nice to read any journals of theirs, if they wrote any.
thanks for a little bit o' history

Constrychnine Exit Options.
Long time listener... first time caller... Oh, sorry, wrong show.
My Beta 2cents.
With Constrychnine, if you want a shorter exit, I have 2 other options:
1) Upclimb the second canyon that comes in on the right after the confluence of Constrychnine and Slideanide. It has an exposed move or two, and is a little scrapey, but goes relatively easily. Circle around back to your car.
2) Climb out the prow on the left (LDC) right across from the second canyon that comes in on the right, staying on the left of the drainage that comes in there. That has a slab move or two, but is 4 class at the hardest, and shortens the day a fair bit. Pretty easy route finding.
Both exits avoid a bit of slogging, but miss the Arch Shane mentions.
Have Fun.

FWIW:
Hemlock was just a working title.
We went with
Constrychnine
