i was wondering if there was any support for an organized freeride dirt jump park.I was looking at starting a petition to start this process rolling,
give me some feedback please, iam a local framebuilder who is trying to
help the local cycling area with an area for an overlooked faction in the comunity.

Of course. I mean they put skate parks in the communities now. Why not. If it would cut down on the illegal activity.

I'd love to see that happen.

What area would you like it to be in?

That's actually a pretty good area for it. It's got some good, open space, with a parking lot there. The terrain would be great.

What we need to do is show the forest service that there is a need by getting everyone on a list to show them there is a group that is willing to work with them, so we do not look like a bunch of reckless individuals , but as a single group to etablish the ground work to get this going.the place was popular. on any given weekend there was 15-20 people riding and jumping there.so i guess what i am saying lets see if get something rolling. kind of funny how all the people who ride xc were hanging out watching people jump.

I mentioned this on another thread but you need to check out IMBA's website on the right steps to take to get this moving along. The Forest Service is open to stuff like this - as well as the BLM . First you need to find out who actually owns the land to get the permission. Go to the county land tax assessment office to get that. The info is available to the public. They can get you any maps you need for a fee. IF you follow the right proceedure you should be able to get the ball rolling. IF YOU purchase the land you can do what you want on it. The forest service and the BLM will need to do an EIS - Envirnmental Impact Statement - then you'll need to have an MOU drawn up - Memorandum of Understanding stating what you want to do, how you'll do it, etc. ----IMBA site----

    Go for it!

I won't be there to use it but it sounds like a great idea.

Great! I hope this works out for you. I happen to be working with the Forest Service & the BLM right now on a similar project. The only difference is they have given me the area to propose trails and it is BIG.
