OK, man, first of all, I love the avatar. It's funny, and that's what we like here. The problem was that it just mushed all of the text into a skinny column. It was harder to read the posts. C'mon dude. We know you can find "anything" on the internet, but the rules here have a reason. We know for a fact that there are young users on this forum. We want everybody to come here, able to look at trip reports, and learn more about the outdoors. If we let certain things happen here, this forum won't be welcome at WORK, SCHOOL, or in certain HOMES.

We wouldn't want to be banned anywhere. Now that's aiming for REAL freedom of the internet.

Triple, we welcome you here, and want to continue hearing from you. Please, please don't let a little thing like **'s keep you away.

As we all join this forum, we are welcome to read the rules. And also, just to let you know, there's an automatic filter for most of the "naughty" words, as you've probably seen in your post preview.

I've sent you a PM. Thanks for voicing your opinion though. It's inspired me to start a Poll on the forum rules. See this post:

Now, on the game? I've been hearing a lot of talk that BYU has it.

I would like to see Utah win though.

Isn't it nice when a forum topic can bring us together?

To be totally honest, I'm just all about a pillow top air mattress either in the Swell in the spring or fall and 9200 feet in the mountains during the summer heat. "Occasionally" I like to drop the F'Bomb

Well, I must say it was a good game, and I'm not a fan of either team.

The Ogden boys were rooting for BYU, so I decided to also.

The DVR is a must for those games. We were replaying the plays that they wouldn't, and more.

Yeah, I was watching with DVR and a 52" inch with 5 coug fans. How SWEET it is!!!!
What a game the Utes played. Many of their players were all banged up and the backup QB that hadn't taken a snap all year. GO UTES!!!!

I think they lost because triplesmacktalk used the "f" word in reference to them winning

Yeah, not to provoke but I thought he wasn't going to play here anymore. Something about intelligence and extended vocabulary.

    BACK TO THE SMACK!!

Coug fan says, "That WAS the bowl game for the Utes...."

Coug fan says, "I KNEW....when they went for it on that 4th down"

    Coug fan says, " "

    Ute fan says,

Coug fan says, "Good game. I enjoyed it. I was impressed with Ratliff and found it to be one of the more intense and enjoyable football games I've ever seen. I'm glad you guys got your bowl game. I'm also glad you had your 1 good year last year. It'll be interesting to see what the future holds for these two teams. My prediction is that one is returning to dominance and the other is returning to mediocrity"

(I must admit that the Fresno- USC game was considerably more intense and entertaining though)

Ya, I don't get into the whole drama of the game either. I was actually pretty impressed with BYU's late comeback. I thought they were done heading into the fourth quarter.
It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.

Spoken like a true Cougar fan.

You want to know who will be successful over the long haul??? Follow the money.... The success of a football program is just like everything else in life. The mighty dollar rules.

Utah's program has stepped up because they are pouring a bunch of money into it at the moment (ever since Chriss Hill took over). BYU's program is in the toleit because they are not...... problem is several other MWC programs are also stepping up..... so the price of winning is going to go up again. If BYU wants to get back to the good ol days they better start pouring money into the program just like they did in the good ol days when they out spent all the other WAC schools combined.

Got any numbers to back this up, or are you just spraying again Shane ? I'd be interested...
Not that I'm in favor of spending any more money on our sports teams-- if it were me I'd say let the sports teams manage on their own and pour it into the academics (but I'm not that big of a sports fan). But in the last 3 years BYU has built an indoor practice football field, and a 4 story glass "Student athlete center" complete with an "exclusive athlete grill", and exclusive athlete weight rooms, spas, a pool, trainers, psychologists, a full-time doctor, nutrition center, and who knows what else. I think its excessive, but with this 30 million dollar expenditure, it seems they're stepping up the spending for athletics down here too (although it was all funded by private donors)... If you're referring to the fact that we weren't willing to fork out the millions that Utah did for an unproven coach, that seems to have been a practical decision.

    Money talks.... Bullshit walks......

    ...Yawn....

I'm bored this morning waiting for my turkey..... so lets open our FACTS Notebook to page 36.

    BYU were 5-6 in 2004
    BYU were 6-5 in 2005

The big difference in that ONE extra win is that they dumbed down their schedule by swapping USC, the best team in the country, for East Something High School. How do you see this as a big positive.... or have you been reading the BYU press releases again?

I have vivid memories of Crowton's first year when the noobs at Breed em' Young couldn't say enough good things about the coach. Folks also forget that Edwards was having a difficult time his last few years.... all this is a result of lack of funding.... Edwards didn't suddenly forget how to coach and neither did Crowton, who is highly successful at Oregon.

New indoor practice field and new offices? .....yawn..... all the top guns in the MWC added those several years ago.

BYU will rise again when they again start spending like a drunken sailor.....

Football is easy...... how many games do you want to win?..... depends, how much do you want to spend?
