Classic mid 70s fusion, nice funky beat. Philip Catherine and Eff Alberts share the guitar duties. Still and AWESOME album.

The Mahavishnu Orchestra - The Inner Mounting Flame - Columbia Records
This was my first introduction into fusion back in 1971. A buddy brought it into music class for us to listen to, man this was some totally different stuff compared to Led Zepplein, Grand Funk Railroad, Humble Pie, Yes, Jethro Tull,..... At the time I never heard anyone that could play like John McLaughlin and company, totally AWESOME! I was hooked on the spot, and still to this day.

Mahavishnu Orchestra - Birds Of Fire - Columbia Records
Round Two. If you think the first one smokes, IMHO the group took it up a few notches with this one, TOTALY MIND BLOWING for the time and still for todays standard. A true fusion classic.
