Is anyone on here an avid HBO original series watcher?

Does anyone on this forum love HBO like I do? And if so, which original series do you love... for me personally it's a toss up between The Soprano's and Six Feet Under. Any takers?

Yes, I love the Soprano's and Six Feet Under as well. I like Deadwood too, but not as much as those two.

G-string Divas was pretty good too!
It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.

I love Soprano's and am going to be doing a Soprano's themed geocache soon.

I also liked Carnivale during the first season but it's too wierd now.

I totally agree about Canivale. I thought that it was very intriguing the first season, but just got too, almost satanic for my taste. The good versus evil thing has gone a little too extreme for me.

I also am diggin' Entourage it has kicked Sex in the City in the A**! Even tho I abolutely adored Sex in the City.

Man O' Man I could talk about HBO all day and not get tired one bit! Is that sad or what?!?!

I guess I am just a poor boy... I have never really had HBO for any extended period of time. Usually after the free offer is over I don't sign up? Actually I have Comcast and for the summer I always downgrade BIG TIME! I only have the $12 package at the moment. I just don't watch it in the summer much. Even in the winter I don't have HBO. I am a sports nut during the winter. As long as I have all the sports channels I am set. I am usually around people talking about those shows and I don't have a clue.....I am like huh....... perhaps I am missing out? But I don't watch sitcoms at all. What a loser ehh? My wife hates it!

Well, all I can say is that you are seriously missing out! Sports have nothing on the Soprano's... I think that family might be it's own sport, come to think of it.

You know, I read about this study once that took people that had very social lives; like had lots of friends and interacted with people all the time. and people that just watched t.v. all the time and the brain waves that were in both parties were the same. I guess that the conculsion they came to was that when you watch television or read alot that your brain actually translates that to reality. (it can't distiguish between reality and television or books or movies or whatever). So, I guess it doesn't matter if you go out dancing every friday night or sit in your front room with 4 inches of cat fur, a bag of cheeto's and the boob tube... you will still have a "social" life. Go Figure! Pretty sad, if you ask me.

The difference between sitcoms and HBO is that..."It's not T.V., it's HBO."

HBO is in a league so much higher than regular T.V., that they just can't be classified in the same category. The acting is 1000X better, the shows are 1000X better, there's just no comparison.

uhhhhh beavis! Really? 1000X? WOW! I had NO idea....you sound like a real fan. Perhaps you are talking about the booby shows that are on late?
Is that considered acting? Could be..............

If you are talking about Real Sex... that isn't acting... that is a reality show and it ROCKS!!! If you are referring to "boobie shows" tune into Skin-a-Max (a.k.a. Cinemax) late night any night of the week and you can get all the boobie shows you want!

In fact there was this one about this group of vamipres and one of the vampire chicks that liked to seduce her prey from the "vampire strip club" that they all worked at... take them into her van and have her way with them, then kill them by sucking out their blood... that one was real filmmaking!!! Then there was this other one... oh, wait... nevermind.

Did anybody ever see a show on HBO called "Cathouse?" I saw that a few weeks ago. It was about this (overweight) porn-industry/brothel guy, and showed some pretty crazy stuff. How he rented his wife out to certain couples, sampled just about all of the goods in the cathouse, among other things...crazy, crazy.

I like HBO; however, I will say that they wear the living h*ll out of their new movies. They show them over, and over, and over, and over, and over..well, you get the idea! Makes me want to pull my hair out!
