    First non mountain biking thread?

    Well, here goes....

This is my second season racing. I'm actually not as strong as last year. Why? Not enough hard training early in the year. So I'm still stuck in the C flite at the RMR crit series.
Last night, about halfway through, I'm on the right side of the track on the edge of the pack. About 2' between me and the dirt. I spot a wheel two or three riders up going wildly to the right, into another rider. The gal in front of me hits both brakes and goes from about 28mph to 15mph in a split second. I grab the brakes, but am promptly heading for her posterior. I release the brakes and swerve into the dirt. As soon as I had it under control, I pop back onto the pavement and sprint back into the pack. Talk about a heart stopper!
Later, someone said to me 'nice mountain bike move!
I guess the mountain biking has been paying off. Saved my last night.....
    Now, for some road pics.

Can't beat it for overall cycling fitness. Some cool rides around here, too.
Of course, racing is a serious buzz if you're into near death experience....

Nice! My favorite part is the commentary. Ohhhhh......

I have a colleague here at work that coaches pee wee football. I capture the video clips that they take from the games and burn it to DVD for him. It is fun to watch these kids play football. But the best part is the moms running the video camera and sitting around it. They are so dramatic and think the refs are out to get the team and their kid. Good stuff!
