    Waterfalls above Willard Bay

Anybody been here? These two waterfalls can be seen from the freeway just east of Willard bay's North Marina. (East of the Freeway).

Me and the wife took a curious drive up this little canyon. It had just been after a good rain, and these things were roaring! We drove the Jeep as far as we could, and then walked the rest. The river coming out of it was bigger than Ogden river at the time. This was about 2 1/2 years ago.

Currently, with all of the rain we've had, everytime I pass this canyon, I can still see white water coming down the mountain from these two falls.

I have been up to about the same spot as your picture. I have heard of people ice climbing in that same area. These waterfalls are part of the Willard Basin drainage. The Willard Basin is a fairly large alpine basin that the CCC build a road into back in the 40's. The road starts in the town of Mantua and climbs to Insperation Point, a peak on the same ridge as Willard Peak and Ben Lomand. A great drive, I did it in my 4Runner about two years ago. This is the fastest and eaisiest way to the top of Willard Peak, the Highest peak in Weber County.

That's what I've heard, although everybody seems to say that it's Ben Lomond peak or Mtn Ogden peak that are the highest.

But as for the waterfalls, I wish I could have gotten closer to them that day, because they were really cool. I just couldn't get any closer. (I had my wife with me)

    Ben Lomand; 9,712ft

    Cool. Thanks for the stats.

It's funny how it doesn't look like it though.
