Best tires I've ever had were Kenda Nevegals. I had the stick-e compound one on the front and I noticed a world of difference with cornering.

That's a good price. That bike is pretty good as an XC/light all-mountain bike. I'd consider it a good bike. You will notice a world of difference on descents compared to your hardtail.

Yes, I rode it a little over a week ago. It was muddy but no snow on trail. It'll be even better now because of this sunny and warm weekend.
