When I did this one, the mosquitoes were horrendous at the lakes up there. Reminded me of the Sierra's but really a great summit (no mosquitoes up there). Nice TR and pics. :2thumbs:

Moose can be cantankerous animals. I had a run in with one (she had a calf nearby) on the trail to Kings Peak a couple years back. Came around a blind spot in the trail and there she was. Oh Oh...

I did it from the north side and it is definitely scenic from that direction. From the east it isn't as dramatic as from the west.
