How's the North Wash in the Winter?

Anybody know of a quick list of dry canyons?

I have done it with more than one canyon, I'll have you know!

Really? Using Pine Creek as an example - I was up to my neck in cold water/log soup this fall. I wouldn't want to do that in 20-30° weather, it'd be a serious hazard.

I live in Utah and want to get some winter canyons in this season. I'd love to hear some recommendations. I don't have access to dry suits and would prefer to stay out of water if at all possible....

I purchased a Garmin Oregon 600 as a primary GPS. What are the best sources for Topo maps for UT and ZNP? How does one load them onto the unit from Base Camp?

My plan is to never stick a rope. My plan if I do stick a rope is to attach a small waterproof plastic tag and sharpie my name, address & telephone number in the hopes of getting it back.

I see this is well travelled ground. Would it be safe to say that one wouldn't rig a releasable contingency anchor unless the situation demanded it?
