I just got back from Kings peak, and several of our hikers were tarping, vs tenting. weight must be the only issue here, but if i'm going alone my tent with rainfly is only 4 lbs, with another...

food ideas
this year i made all of my meals from freeze dried ingredients, contents were smaller in size and no packaging. so I was able to put 4 days of food into a 1 gallon ziploc and pack into my pack...

I am doing my final backpack check, and am at 24# with food, but no water.
we are doing 4 days to kings peak, does that sound about right or am I still to heavy?

I am leaving for kings peak in a week, doing a 4 day hike in and out from henrys fork, does anyone know about a natural spring near gunsight pass? that I could make my second night camp?
