Oregon Cop must pay $180k for kicking motorcyclist

Too bad the video is silent, but it's pretty clear what happened. Motorcyclist speeds past unmarked police car on some back roads in Oregon. Cop finally catches up to biker, all the while getting more and more angry. Once the rider realizes he's being pulled over, you can see him stopping at the light. You can see at 3:30 he finally realizes he's being pulled over, and immediately does so.

That's when the officer rams the bike, blaming it on malfunctioning brakes on the car. The rest is a little ridiculous. Fracturing a rib and clavicle, while the gun is drawn on him.

This is the footage. The end result was a lawsuit where the motorcyclist wins $181k against Captain Robert Wayne Edwards

This is why I hate cops.

I heard about this. Crazy SOB cop, hope he gets fired.

Is it just me, but surely this cop realises that his own dashcam records everything? Therefore he should have been a bit more circumspect?

Also, how does his dashcam video get into the public domain?
