Snowshoe fun on the Western Slope
Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've posted a little trip report. This isn't HUGE or anything but it shows what I've been up to over here on the Western Slope of Colorado in the snowshoeing department. We have peaks right in our back yard and I have been attempting to get out on them regularly. One of my favorites is Williams Peak and my newest thing is to snowshoe up for Sunset and hike down in the dark. It's pretty magical!! It's about a mile walk down the road to the unofficial trail head and then a mile trek up, gaining 1500 vertical feet so it's a steep one. Beer is mandatory on the top! :pitcher::pitcher: One of my buddies actually split boards up and boards down. Last night I was able to catch him launching off a cornice, landing it and carving his way down in the freshies. I also included some pictures of our hike up to Spouting Rock and Hanging Lake this past month as well. Hope you snowshoe folks are getting out and enjoying! :mrgreen:Check out my pics!
