I wear them if I am around people who are immune compromised. At work. If I am asked to. Or if I am coughing.
I do think they are useful. I have used them at work before when around someone who is sick and won't wear a mask or I am sick but not sick enough to miss work.
I do think some people use it as a political thing with COVID-19.
I get really tired of the mask shaming. Let it be..educate people on why they are useful and let people do what they feel is comfortable.
People wearing them in their car when no one else is with them makes me laugh.

No, I don't wear a mask. There are places I believe they are useful and should be worn, but I just avoid those place.
For the most part I do believe it's political and 90% of those wearing a mask are virtue signalling.
YMMV

Many states are making them mandatory. We may see what Utah decides at the 4 pm press conference today.
I, at first, after hearing the initial contradictory evidence about mask wearing, did not wear a mask and I was irritated to have to wear one to Costco. I have changed my mind and will wear one in most public places, meaning indoors/stores. (Seems not necessary outside on a trail.) I am doing so voluntarily and will not stare-down anyone who is not wearing one. It seems I heard that if even 60% of people would wear masks we could get a handle on this virus and significantly slow the spread. It is not a freedom/political issue for me. It is a "I'm sick and tired of this virus" thing and I am willing to make a very small voluntary sacrifice to wear a mask and protect others in the event I catch this bug and don't know it. It is a simple thing, but a thing none-the-less that most medical/scientific people agree on. Masks help.
Looks like SL Co. I’d likely going to mandatory mask wearing.

My "mask" is an American Flag bandana...I'll put it on when I go to grocery or big box stores mainly so I don't have to get into a verbal bitch slap with some hypersensitive pussy. The best way to avoid trouble, is to avoid trouble. But there are exceptions...
That said, any day now my Confederate Flag bandana will arrive and will replace the stars n' stripes as the go-to. Nobody tells me what to do.
I try not to wear a mask. Its clear that masks are creating oxygen deprivation in most Utahn's based on how they drive and behave. NOPE, NOPE and more NOPE!
Still seeing folks walking in the park and driving while wearing a mask. WHY??
I can see both arguments here. And before you go calling me Mitt Romney, consider that I used to be aggressively against mask wearing -- but I realized I was being about 100% closed minded about the topic. Regardless of your stance or your politics, it is a fact that wearing a mask REDUCES the amount of virus that an infected person emits. That's an irrefutable fact.
As Ice says, there is a place and a time for it. I still don't own a mask, and my face is still a mask virgin. But if I had to go spend a few hours in a nursing home you can bet that I would gladly wear one.
No, I'm not making it...I ordered it from this hillbilly place in Oklahoma that sells just about anything Dixie. Sure I'll post a pic, along with my MAGA hat to complete the ensemble...as per blueeyes excellent recommendation.
Heard on the news today that the hypersensitive freaks aren't digging the word "Dixie"...they want to conflate that with the flag to denote racism. So they're going to throw a wet blanket over all the Dixieland music? That's the problem with these overcooked liberals...they always bite off more than they can chew.
