The Devil's Eye
I've lived below these mountains most of my life and never known of this stout limestone arch atop the Wasatch. My dad mentioned it to me late in the summer and I finally spotted it from the canyon floor. Invisible from the valley, I set up Preston Canyon to find it. Even standing on top of the mountain, this arch doesn't give itself up. In fact, it's impossible to see from below unless you traverse around to the other side of the ridge (AF Canyon slope), and even then, you have to have your head up at just the right time to peer through it from the east. With a short climb you can get up to the base of the arch and look down into American Fork Canyon.

After a lot of searching, I finally caught a glimple of it from the east and eventually got up in there.

I have never heard of that arch. Pretty sweet. Looks like a bushwack. Thanks for posting.
