Ophir-Jacob City-Stockton
Yesterday, I decided to get out and see how the new wheels/tires work together (AWESOME!) and staged just outside the Desert Chemical Depot, South of Tooele and NW of 5Mile Pass.
Part of my mission was to run down into Ophir Canyon to find a cabin that I've seen photographed (no luck), with a secondary goal of finding a route from Ophir Canyon up the mountain and into Jacob City.
At the end of the canyon, just around the campground, I saw a trail heading up the mountain and there were no "NO TRESPASSING" signs, which is odd for Ophir.
I followed it up and finally found my route. The trail leads to the intersection of the top of Jacob City and the back-end/top of Soldier Canyon.

Attached are my Garmin tracks for the route that I took. Be advised that the top is very muddy. $15 at the car wash getting all the muck, rocks, etc. out and off the ATV.
*Be advised that the trail from Ophir to the top of the mountain is *NOT* for the novice rider and those without 4x4. The trail is narrow, off-camber and really steep (and off-camber) in some sections. If you do attempt to take this trail, there's no turning around once you start heading up, so be warned.
