Cassidy Arch Canyon, Capitol Reef NP, Sunday 10/02/2016
Cassidy Arch - One of my favorite canyon routes, well actually every canyon I've ever done is one of my favorites.
Cassidy Arch canyon isn't just a one trick pony with the save the tree put in some bolts arch rappel. It has great views on the way up and the rest of the canyon
is amazing!
That placement of the bolts for the top rappel is a great choice. It has a wide ledge to get on rappel and the start is easy and the free hang is awesome.
The old way off of the tree was a bit awkward - beached whale kind of start.A good audience is nice to have too . Except for the last rappel the next five stations are also bolted.
The "Autumn" light sure made for some good photo angles and made for some very pleasant temperatures. Hated to head home!!
