Na-Gah Fork of Shinob, Capitol Reef Sunday November 13, 2016
Legend has it, Na-Gah, is the Paiute Indian name for the North Star. In a time before ours, Na-gah was a great climber who eventually climbed too high so that he could not return.
His father Shinoh, rather than let his brave son perish, turned him into a guiding star where everyone could see him.
Another perfect day in Capitol Reef! Na-gah is great canyon to do in the shortened hours of Autumn (it is bad luck to use the word fall in canyoneering or climbing).
We were in by 9:00am and out by 3:00pm.
Really nice, dark, smelly, deep pot of water below the first rappel.
But my favorite part is the last rappel. It is such a grand exit.
Thanks to my canyoneering partners; Brinda, Alijeh, Jessica, Andrea, Carl, Jeremy and Justin for making the trip a blast
and for taking some great pictures.
