A win is a win :-)
This is exactly the type of game Whitt loves. Grind it out defensive struggle. Your defense seals the game. The Utes are the Baltimore Ravens.
That dodged a bullet on that game.

Me and my blood pressure would prefer it if Utah could find a way to win without taking it down to the wire every time.
Btw, did anybody record the postgame awards ceremony? Or know where I can find a recording?
I watched it, but I could have sworn the announcer said :
"...and now I'll turn it over to the CEO of Foster Farms, MISTER Laura Flanagan..."
Others in the room watching with me also noticed the "mister" pronoun attached to Laura's name, just wondering if she's a he or what.
She...you sick puppies

Yes, I too scoured the internets looking for gender designation. By all accounts it appears she is a she, but the announcer said mister - I swear!! Not really saying Laura is a dude so much as the announcer screwed up...and that's a pretty egregious blunder to make on live tv.

Roderick fired for red zone issues. That's certainly justifiable.
Anybody have any updates on D-Hat?
Pretty obvious...

As the playcaller in the booth the last two years, Roderick took the heat when Utah (9-4) struggled to convert near the end zone. The team was No. 106 in FBS red zone offense, converting points on 77.8 percent of red zone possessions. The Utes also had the No. 8 scoring offense (29.8 ppg) in the Pac-12, and the No. 9 passing offense (216.7 ypg). Whittingham cited the red zone struggles as the biggest reason for a 1-3 ending to the season.
Utah's offense sucked and something needed to change... the down side is this means another totally new offense for the team to learn next year. That's something like 8 new offenses in the last 10 years. That's not a winning formula.
I hate to see Erickson go because he was a great recruiter, not to mention a vault of knowledge.

Good read about Joe Williams and his talks with the 49ers.
"Kyle said, 'Let’s be very clear, he did not quit the team,'" Lynch said. "He physically and mentally got tired and broke down and he asked for advice on what they should do. He stepped away. They had some injuries. Kyle went back to him and said, 'Hey, we’d love for you to come back, but I first have to ask your teammates.' They welcomed him back with open arms."
