What if we tried to do it next Friday the 23rd of March?
if anything is planned I'd probably show up, if not I tend to go a wanderin' when friday/saturday comes
I actually just made plans to go to Crystal Caves this Friday afternoon. So this week will probably not work for me. Sorry to disappoint.
Hey- Im loading caches as we speak for the trip to Moab over Jeep Safari and plan on doing at least a full day of caching with my son just in the moab area :2thumbs: Anyone who's down there is welcome to come along!
seems this thread has died down.. Any thoughts of a UUtah event still?
I would like to meet some of the cool people over here...
This is the part where you all tell this city boy what cacheing is...?
If you are a city boy chances are there is a geocache within 1/4 mile of your house....Quote:

Not seeing many responses to this...
If no one objects I will go ahead and list the event. I just need some input on what when and where? I prefer something in Utah or Salt Lake county.
What would prefer to do:
1- An evening hike in a canyon somewhere
2- A weekend Day hike.
3- A simple gathering at a park pavilion then we go look for nearby urban caches?
4- A walk or bike ride along an urban trail such as Jordan river parkway
5- something else (suggestions please!)
When would you like to see it take place
1- a weekday evening (what night would you prefer)
2- on a Saturday (how long do you think it should last)
Where:
1- Utah County Provo or farther South
2- Utah County Orem or farther North
3- Salt Lake county south
4- Salt lake county North
5- Somewhere else (name your preference)
Please let me know what peoples preferences are and I will submit the event to geocaching.com.
Also, I DO understand why this thread was moved here, However I have to wonder if it would have a better response if this was posted back in the geocaching forum?
I think I would prefer a canyon hike on a weekday evening (except for tuesday bike night).
If we schedule a weekend we should make it a mini adventure like a few caches out of town (no urban caches) maybe Midway or above Heber?
Well I finally got around to submitting the event cache page.
I listed if for the Doughnut Falls trail head. It seemed like a nicy shady and easy hike for all to enjoy, and there is about 4 caches along the way to the falls.
Once the event is approved the page will be:
GC14D6R Event Cache: "UUtah Unite"

The current plan is for August 1st, meet at gravel trail head parking lot between 5:30 and 6pm, begin hiking shortly after 6pm.
bump....
This is tommorrow, Anyone coming?
Mtn-boy and I are going to try.
I should be there but it might be a little after 6PM.
I'll just have to catch up on the trail.
Hopefully Billy Goatee will show up too :wink:Quote:

I would like to see this a monthly event. Although given who showed up, I think next months should farther North.
Mtnman, or Sportsman you up for hosting one next month?
Sure. Any requests on where to go?
Somewhere cool and shady, we could also do something Urban and see who shows up. Although I prefer hikes.Quote:

I would try to go to the next one if it was in my neck of the woods...
