Most definitely a win for the public access cause. I'm all for people owning private land and doing with it as they see fit, but there are simply some places where it shouldn't be able to take place. I've never done the narrows from chamberlain ranch, and likely never will (I get more than my fill of the narrows from other approaches) but access issues are one thing I can definitely get behind with a small contribution.
Or a $1,400,000 one.
I totally agree with access, but that is a lot of money to spend just so that the first 1/2 mile of the dusty road that you already walk of the 16 mile narrows hike so you won't have to walk past nice cabins. There was never a threat to close the narrows. Just my 2 cents worth (which obviously wouldn't have helped much) :haha:
