Fins & Things, Moab, Utah
Traveled down to Moab, Utah over the past couple of days. The Mrs. and I took the KL out on some Moab slickrock. The Cherokee Trailhawk did great. Traction on the slick rock was superb! At times I felt almost as if we were going to tip over forwards. However, even on extreme descents, the tires gripped well; had no sliding or slipping at all.
We hit Fins & Things on Monday, Nov 9th after our arrival in town. The route is just a few minutes from Moab. Lots of slick rock expanses to travel on. Several steep climbs and descents. Tons of fun. A Toyota pick up followed us through the route. He was impressed with us, I assume, as he kept falling behind us; he asked if I could go slower so that he could follow the route. (In some places its hard to discern the correct way on the slickrock, even though painted arrows mark the general direction).
Heavy rain and some snow arrived on Tuesday. So we did some hiking in the Canyonlands National Park. Visited False Kiva. Was fun and a bit cold with the weather.
Heavy continued rain forced us indoors to watch the lastest rendition of James Bond at the local Moab movie theater. Here are a few pics when the spotter, wife, wasn't hanging on for dear life.
