Has anyone ever hike up Sand Creek from the Escalante River to Hell's Backbone road? Is it possible without getting technical?

It is non-technical, but difficult because of bushwhacking. There are more enjoyable canyons in the Escalante. Sand Creek does have some nice sections though that you can see from the Boulder Mail Trail or Escalante River.
Ok thanks. I am planning on doing Death Hollow, but we will only have one car, so I am looking for a way to make a loop.
I would definitely not use Sand Creek to do it. There is a loop route you can do in Death Hollow in Steve Allen's Canyoneering 3.Quote:

Otherwise, hitch-hike or use one of the shuttle services in Escalante.
