Amazing pictures. Just wondered which canyon the alcove (pic 12) was, and which canyon pic 14 is. (I think la Gorce is the other one).
Awesomeness :2thumbs:
Thanks, JP
Love the way the water zigzags through the foreground. Wonderful light! That is one tough life you are having on the lake....
I took the wife to Lake Powell for Valentine's Day weekend (her choice!). Couldn't quite meet Scott P's standards, but at least I brought some flowers and a card.
Temps in the low 70s, and we pretty much had the whole lake to ourselves. We departed from Wahweap (no one else at the mussel check point or the ramp) and headed down to the Labyrinth Canyon area. After exploring Labryinth for a while, we set up camp right under Dominguez Butte.

That night, we saw one of the most spectacular sunsets either of us has ever seen:

Our not-so-new boat, a 1975 Starcraft Holiday 16, with an 85hp Mercury. We recently bought it from a retired guy in Flagstaff who is too feeble to use it anymore. He was the original owner and still had all the original documents.

We got off the Lake just in time on Sunday. As we were driving home, the winds picked up to about 40 mph, which would not have been fun in our little boat.
Edit:
If this belongs in a new thread under boating, I'd be happy to have a moderator move it.
Nice :cool2:
Damn that's nice!
Awesome! :2thumbs:
