As I normally go on a winter trip (lake Powell) my boat is out of the water for cheaper storage and in need of bottom paint. I just couldn't stay home so I took Blain and Matt to the poison springs road south of Hanksville. We went 30 miles out and had a blast. The weather was great and we ran into some guys I knew from Ephraim. I will do this road again and plan on staying overnight as it was so beautiful out there. I wondered how the Dirty Devil River crossing would be. It was a bit scary at first but after the guys from Ephraim drove their Jeep through I could see it would be ok. I have not had to swim a 4 wheeler before and the water was cold as you will see the ice in the photos. The crossing would be harder if the water was up I can tell you. Had no trouble getting out on the other side. The view down the DD canyon is amazing as well as Hatch canyon.
