How bad do you think this is? Is it mostly all about public image, or do you think what actually happened is bad enough to make a guy lose his career?
I'm asking openly, because I'm torn on this. Clearly it's wrong what he did, but he's a young kid who's only ever known aggression. And it's pretty mild compared to other incidents of domestic abuse. But it's totally not justifiable at all. It's wrong, plain and simple.
As domestic abuse goes this ranks pretty mild. I'll bet she doesn't even have any scratches or bruises to show for it. That "kick" at the end was more like a nudge, really. But you can bet that this girl will take home millions from the ensuing lawsuit.
To be clear, I'm not condoning or justifying his behavior. It was uncalled for. But to call it domestic abuse is a gross exaggeration IMO.
I think the firing was an attempt to clear the team from the ensuing PR poop storm that will inevitably come.
