Copied from someone else. So, I don’t have proof or evidence, but if true, definitely something to think about :
Over the weekend the Mexican Army was utterly defeated by the Sinaloa cartel. The news didn't cover it much. Nothing to see here... The Army was outgunned by the cartel and were forced to release El Chapo's son and run for their lives. What is interesting is that the Army was out-gunned in a nation with only ONE gun store in all of Mexico. One. The gun store is heavily guarded and on an Army base. And each day Mexico's ONLY gun store sells on average just 38 firearms to more than 129.2 million civilians.
In the picture below, the guys with machine guns are members of El Mencho’s Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). That's not the military, that's the bad guys. Very BAD guys. And if it looks like they are well-uniformed and well-equipped it is because they are.
This is all very strange because Mexican law states that unless a Mexican citizen has explicit authorization from the Secretariat of National Defense, it is totally illegal and punishable by law to to keep and carry any firearm on their person or in their vehicle at any time, anywhere. Period.
Let this little paradox sink in as you consider Mexico's horrific level of violence, which has claimed more than 100,000 people killed by firearms over the last decade. Last year was Mexico’s deadliest since the government began releasing homicide statistics in 1997.
In the first half of 2019, there were 17,608 murders. That's 94 people being killed every single day. Last year saw a total of 33,341, making it the bloodiest year on record, but this year is set to be the most violent of all time.
My point? Disarming law-abiding citizens does nothing to stop violence. It makes it worse. Don't believe me? Ask Mexicans. Or, just look at the mass of illegal immigration on our Southern Border. Just something to think about .
Stay safe.
