Speaking to reporters the morning after he was fined $500,000 and the Patriots were ordered to pay $250,000 and forfeit draft picks for spying on an opponent's defensive signals, Belichick stood firm while grilled about the situation.
"It's over and we're moving on," the coach said at his media briefing. "That's where we're at. Everything else is in the past."
Belichick was fined the NFL maximum by commissioner Roger Goodell, who also ordered the Patriots to give up their first-round draft choice next year if they reach the playoffs this season, or their second- and third-round picks if they miss the postseason.
