Me, Kristen and Alison in Fruita. Kristen was our virgin mountain biking girl this trip. :haha: She is hooked!
These 2 are from right before surgery a month ago on my Ride-Around-White-Rim-in-a-Day suffer-fest. Still can't ride dirt yet.Attachment 54987Attachment 54988

My first real downhill race bike. Boulder city race, lake mead in the back ground. 1998, I broke the frame in half 9 months after driving to Santa Barbara to buy it.

I'm finally back on dirt after a neck discectomy and fusion. This morning, from the little known AF Canyon overlook point.

Picture threads are fun. Finally got down to American Fork. Another AF Overlook. Peak identification from heywhatsthat.com.

Here's my trip report, if you have time to read it, 'cause its kinda long! http://www.bogley.com/forum/showthre...ay-Trip-Report
For a couple of weeks afterward, I swore I'd never do it again but, I am now looking forward to the next time. I think I could do all 100 miles now since I had surgery on my neck 8 weeks ago, correcting my neck, arm and shoulder pain/numbness. If I could do anything different it would be to go in cooler weather. 92-95 degree temps that day was way too hot for that ride. I think mid 70's would be perfect.
Ten minutes late to work today, but it was all worth it. Took the 5:30am shuttle up to Guardsman pass and rolled down snapping pictures on the way to the bottom of Mill Creek. Had to skip pipeline due to time. With the rain yesterday it made it a perfect morning to ride this trail.

From Gregg Bromka’s book “Mountain Biking Utah” on biking the White Rim Trail: “A single-day trip is an incomprehensible feat for the average biker and one that shatters the difficulty scale”. Speaking of the Murphy Hogback and Hardscrabble climb, he says, “…both are despairingly steep.”! Not touting my own horn, just wish I would have read his description before my trip!

I'm like, "take the pic already, I'm exhausted, freezing and the clouds are rolling in"! :haha:

So here are a few from Little Cottonwood Creek Trail this AM.... I have been spending a lot of time on the road bike and neglecting the dirt... Today, while drinking my morning coffee and reading the newspaper, I decided I'd put an end to that.....

What is a ride in the dirt without losing even a little bit of skin.... You can see in the middle of the photo where my front wheel started sliding out... I am not 100% sure how this happened, but it ended up much, much, better than I originally thought it was going to... I had a good rate of speed going and thought...."this is going to hurt"...but by the time I hit, I was barely moving....

My legs are feeling pretty strong and my lungs are good.... But my tech abilities on the dirt need the dust knocked off them.... Going up and coming down, I was all over the place at times....
That said, what a fun morning!
Awesome, I still need to get up there and ride LCC
Just took my boy on Thunder Mountain down by Bryce Canyon today :cool2:

Great Mountain bike ride today to the top of American Fork Canyon Overlook Trail. Looking straight down American Fork Canyon to Utah Lake. If you mountain bike this is an amazing ride with incredible views. A must do ride. The trail is a nice out-and-back ride to a viewpoint high above the confluence of the South Fork and North Fork of American Fork Canyon. Just short of 13 miles round trip.
Very cool @Luce
Made an excuse to stop and snap a shot on the way up to Bobsled
