It looks like the iPhone may long be coming to Verizon.
It looks like it might be finally going down. If it does iPhone (IOS) market share will skyrocket.
What I'm wondering is when they release the iPhone 4 for Verizon are they gonna release iPhone 5 in the summer like all the past models or wait until fall. I will most likely wait until the iphone 5 and possibly switch to verizon
iPhone 4 was a major hardware revision so I wouldn't expect a lot out change out of Summer 2011 iPhone 5. It'll probably just be a minor bump, much like the difference between the 3G released in Summer 2008 and the 3GS released in 2009.Quote:

I watched a video with a new phone that is either the iPhone 5 or the CDMA version of the iPhone 4. The antenna design was updated and there were several other changes to the inside with projected improvement. The more I think about this, the more disappointed I am that the iPhone is coming to Verizon. I really like Verizon right now, and it isn't the increase of users that concern me but the increase in apple products. I don't know how much you guys know on the network side of things, but apple computers are bandwidth hogs. Macs literally take up to 3 or 4 times the normal bandwidth as a PC on a network. I don't know anything about the phone networks, but I would be surprised if the iPhones are not network hogs and that would thus lower Verizon's network quality.
On a seperate note, I read that the HTC Thunderbold (at CES) got 18mb down on Verizon's 4g LTE network in Vegas. That is amazing! Sprints 4g network only gets about 8mb down here in Provo.

I can tell you from personal experience on dozens of networks that Mac computers use more bandwidth than computers running linux or windows. When I first saw the difference I was shocked. Verizon is keeping their unlimited data plans in place (or at least that is the rumor) so Verizon believes their networks will be fine. I don't know why somebody would ask for more "proof" from DiscGo. The guy's expertise is monitoring networks and he's seen this first hand. If Macs take more bandwidth, it's not something to get upset about, that's just the way it is. When they are physically built different, operate differently, and vary in age, machines will cache things differently and this among other things will have a direct impact on how bandwidth will vary.Quote:
