I'm at work right now. Just gave a Cessna 172 rental pilot a thrill a couple of hours ago - he was overflying the airport back to home base, and it was real quiet, so I asked him if he was interested in coming in to the international airport for a touch and go on his way through. Sounded like he was pretty young, not a huge amount of hours. Came in, touched down on the runway, slowed down, then took off again on his way home (about 10 miles away). Something to tell the others about when he gets back to Boundary Bay airport.

Normally we don't permit that kind of thing, cuz we just can't fit it in to the traffic we have, but sometimes it just works out... I know that back when I was using my private license, I loved coming into the bigger airports. One of my biggest thrills was landing in Seattle at Sea-Tac. That's a busy spot; had to be on my toes! This guy had the whole airport to himself, almost, and I was able to monitor him closely - all went well. :2thumbs:

A controller at Hill AFB let me do that once in an R22. It was sureal to be flanked by F16's and A10's as I flew that little tinker toy of a helicopter down the runway at about 50' AGL. I probably only had around 100 at the time and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. It doesn't seem like much but it's something that I'll always remember. I guarantee, you totally made that guys day.

Long weekend short recovery; too much to drink Thursday night, up early Friday for 3 long days playing army and this evening has been laundry, pizza and beer. Back to work tomorrow, but it's a short week and Zion next weekend!

Going to work. :roll: Good news is it will be a four day weekend. Headed to Zion on Wednesday night!:clap: List is already made (same one as last year) just need to pack everything in my trailer.

I'm down for next year; the 100th running of B2B! (Maybe a bogley contingent?). This year my excuse is that it was more of a "girl's weekend out". And as it turned out it was important to work with my son on school stuff to allow time for Family Fest next weekend :nod:

But Shaun is right it's pretty awesome party and you really don't need to be a "runner" to enjoy it. A sky full of flying tortillas; Floats and costumes; naked people (more women this year apparently!); a big party in GG park after to finish it off.

I just went to the catering fridge and noticed (looking through the glass) that there was only one box lunch left. HOW did they know I like Krab sandwiches? Spelled with a "K" too. Bonus! :2thumbs:

Tonight I need to pick up the trampoline that my wife ordered and till my garden...

Chillaxin at home listening to Pearl Jam, surfing Bogley and just watching the Trip Reports come in AND getting ready to fire up the BBQ. :cool2:

Nice! I hadn't seen that yet. Saw them last May in Boston, and had tickets to Vedder in Boston in a couple of weeks, but had to bail. Always a good show though!
