I won't be there to enforce this, but I suggest that people chip in and buy Tanya's dinner when you get together as a thank you for all the work she has done.

Anyone down there have time to check out the road? Or suggest a better sopt to camp?
Drove it last weekend after hiking with Bo in my off road honda civic. For normal people I'd recomend something higher clearance then a civic. It had some deep ruts and rocks that I was able to ravel around when needed.Quote:

Been *so* swamped with work and guiding my son through his first serious final projects and exams. Man, 7th grade is tough! But school's almost over and now Bogley Fest is only 3 weeks away. Yeah!
Do we need to organize some group items like tables, BBQ's etc. for the pot luck? I have room in my truck to bring some stuff but don't own a portable BBQ.
So I've recieved some PMs on basic skills practice for newbs going. I may be free on some week days. Next weekend is the BAM triatholon that I have to help my brother (co-owner) out with. I'm more than willing to help just have to fine some place to go? Maybe Pete's rock, know of a place up Neffs, a few up Big Cottonwood. Looking for some place where an easy top rope rappel, ideal if start out small and can progress to larger height for the noobs. Ideas? Anyone else want to help?Quote:

You can drop of the front face or around the side and its a good 50-60 ft. just my 2 cents...we are planning on heading up in the next week or so to take a few people on a refresher. hope this helps.. :ne_nau:
Hate to bail, but I won't be able to make it to the fest at all. My spots for Sat & Sun can be refilled.
Thanks
Ugh! I have to bail on Friday's trip. I have to take a very important test on that friday in Vegas. Sorry about the late notification, But can you take me off the list for Friday only (Tom's trip)? Still no problems with Sat and Sun.
Sorry Tom! I was totally looking forward to meeting you guys too.
:frustrated:
Looks like Ryan and I are going to miss Sundays Rock Canyon trip. I was really looking forward to it too :( Tom, can we take Deathcricket and Sombeechs spots and join you on Spry on Friday?Quote:

Dang!!! There was a post here from mmac? Said something about joining Tom's Birch Hollow group. I zapped it by accident!
I think it said something about 3 people leaving this group and joining Tom's Birch Hollow group - that he opened up allow more, but I can't even find Tom's post - I must have zapped it too! :ne_nau: So I assume that this trip now has 4 open spots.

Mystery on Sunday - Limit 6

3. Cody
4. Gonzo
5. Bugby
6. Brad
*Trip Full - 6 max
Tsuya broke his foot jumping out of an airplane, Bugby is a substitution.
Saturday we have 3 spots on the Das Boot Subway permit and 3 spots on mrbrejcha's Spry permit. I'd like to substitute Bugby for Tsuya on mrbrejcha's Spry permit. Then I would like put all three of our Das Boot Subway permits up for grabs. Cody can't stay the whole weekend (which opens his spot) and Josh and Brad will be doing Spry on a 2 person permit I got myself. This 2 person Spry trip will be self sufficient, capable of doing the trip alone but would like to stay kinda close to mrbrejcha's group in order to have lunch together, car pool and maybe even share ropes..?
Tanya, feel free to cut and paste, here's how these should look now:

I still also have Behunin and Telephone canyon permits that I reserved. If no one wants them I will just let the BC desk know that week.
I'd like to take the Subway On Saturday and Echo spots, if they're open and the organizers are good with it.
That's correct, Tom's post was in the Flipped upside down topic (pg4)Quote:

If you signed up for a canyon -- such as Das Boot, make sure you know that you need to have a wetsuit, socks, etc and what kind!
What about Pine Creek? A few weeks ago there was a TR where some folks froze their buns off because they didn't have wetsuits. Hopefully the water is lower now (and more so in 2 more weeks). Not needed?Quote:

Those doing Pine Creek are also doing Keyhole, which almost always needs a wet/dry suit. Last year however a couple of guys (Shane and Hank) --- sort of hung above the canyon and did it without. Pine Creek last year we did not even need one, but usually a wetsuit is needed, yes!
Everyone... if you are not sure, contact your trip organizer.
We did pine creek and keyhole last weekend. Both were very cold and wet - I brought my jetboil and made hot chocolate which was very nice, we all had blue lips even with wetsuits.
OK. With the current changes, I will be doing Das Boot alone! Forget it! I retract my offer to lead it, since no one wants to do it.
But I do want to do Subway. I think the limit is 12 so Bo should have no problem adding me and the other person who wants on. I just need to know if I need to pick up my own permit or if Bo can get slots for two more?
I don't think Shaun was coming on this one anymore:

Let's do something else since there are no takers!
Randi and Matt - See update. Suggestion - Talk with Tom about helping with the big group Sunday doing Birch or join the Rock Canyon group since you can both help lead newbies there too.
Is it Matt I spelled wrong or Mr Brejcha
It looks like the subway trip filled up, but if there is still space/interest, me Maria and probably Julia would be up for Das Boot.Quote:
