Haven't been but guessing Capistrano Beach or San Clemente State Beach.
...drove up and down the shoreline, from Frisco to Diego 15 years ago - but I've not an really idea.

Capo is too far north and State Beach is too far south, but you're getting there. The pedestrian overpass is over the Surfliner track. This should help.Quote:

ok, i give up. so no one gets it. it is an old mine not far past the silver falls turnoff on the way out to middle moody trailhead. you go through a gate and it's high on the east side of the road. i know a bunch of you out there have driven right by it.

I'll take the opportunity and will stick with the mining theme.
I know some will get this easily but others may have to spend some time discovering. Very cool spot.
