I love the English...you can insult them and they don't even know what the hell happened. It's a joke, Rob.

University of Utah freshman running back Ty Jordan has died
https://www.ksl.com/article/50073636...ordan-has-died
Wow. That’s terrible. He had such a bright football career.
If it turns out that he did die from a self induced accidental discharge of a firearm, I won’t be surprised if the tyrants at the U hand down rules of no handling of firearms ever by athletes ( sim to their current soc dist and mask restrictions on athletes for the virus).
Tony Rice . . . gone.

Pierre Cardin has departed this mortal coil.
Fashion designer of some note (but not to my taste). 98 years old; not a bad inning.
RIP - Tommy Lasorda.

^ Tommy Lasorda. What a great, great character in baseball. So sad his infectious energy is gone.
One of the funniest vids of his antics, the battle against the Phillie Phanatic back in the 80s. When baseball was still innocent and fun for the most part.

RIP Hammerin Hank. Too bad he has to go out with conspiracy surrounding his name tangled with the China Virus.

Rush Limbaugh dead at 70 after losing battle with cancer.

Trump giving him that medal at the last SOTU address was the ultimate liberal bitch slap, IMO. I thought when that happened..."Man, that is MAJOR balls!". I think Mark Steyn would do great as a replacement...he makes fun of a lot of stuff but if he were doing it on a daily basis I think he'd get a bit more serious.
Boxing Legend Marvelous Marvin Hagler dead at 66.
https://www.foxnews.com/sports/marve...ng-legend-dead
I remember the fight he had with Sugar Ray Leonard...I was rooting for Leonard but when the fight was over I figured Hagler won it...but of course, he didn't. It's a "matter of opinion", but that fight showed me that the best man doesn't always win. I think it's when I truly understood that the corruption I'd heard about in boxing actually existed. I remember professional boxing being put back on it's heels a bit after that...but then Mike Tyson showed up and saved it by just clobbering the shit out of everybody.
The Queen's Consort, Prince Philip (aka Phil the Greek) has left the building just two months short of his 100th birthday.
Despite me not liking him much, I did like the way he wasn't frightened to say what he thought, despite putting his foot in it once in a while :facepalm1:

Michael Collins, Apollo 11 dies aged 90
https://e3.365dm.com/21/04/2048x1152...20210428174856
A very humbling interview:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-56921562
Only Buzz left!
I have to confess that in Collins' position, I'd be really pissed off by being only 50 miles from the moon but not landing there.
Equally as brave an explorer as Armstrong and Aldrin and those that went before.
Read Michael Collins book "Carrying the Fire", it's a great read if you like that type of stuff.
His greatest fear was what if Neil and Buzz had a problem and could not rendezvous with the command module and he had to return alone. How hard would it be to abandon them? How would he deal with it?
FWIW - The Apollo 11 crew only gave their mission a 50% chance of success. All those astronauts had huge bass balls.
Anyhoo... food for thought.
Another legend from my youth bites the dust...

Robert Marchand, who holds the hour record in both the over-100 and over-105 categories, has died. He was 109.
Most of you may not know or care who this guy is, but he was pretty inspiring. Especially at that age. He was a legend in his own right in the cycling world.
Mark Eaton, NBA All-Star center for the Utah Jazz is dead at the young age of 64.
