It’s not hostility, Rob...my point being they’d slit your throat as well as mine.
I also wouldn’t consider these two instances as apples to apples either.
^^^This.... the USS Vincennes was actively engaged in an armed conflict instigated by Iran at the time of the first instance.
In the second instance Iran initiated and armed attack to which the US did not respond to militarily... in other words the only side doing any actual shooting was Iran.
YMMV

The hypocrisy of the left is mind numbing... The Iranian government is literally gunning down its citizen's in the streets for being upset they were lied to and speaking out... and nothing from the left or the Democratic Presidential candidates except crickets.

Just a good thing iran has serious gun restrictions or else maybe the general populace would be heard...
The only reason a government wants to take away your guns is they are about to do something that you would shoot them for.

I know it's not hostility on your part, but it sure seems that way sometimes :ne_nau:  .My little plane costs less than half of your SUV to buy, run and maintain. Tell me your name & where you live, and next time I'm in Utah I'll look you up and buy you a drink.
I doubt it. One of my best friends is Iranian, and is as sensible as me (and you, probably!). He runs a business in New York.
I lived 18 months in one of the most corrupt African nations...they were the nicest people you could ever wish to meet.
The majority of all people are nice, sensible, caring, loving, but all we hear about are the baddies, the extremists, the worst of the bunch.
Anyway; enough ranting from me :phew:
Take good care.
Rob
^^^You may be right, Rob. But reporting on baddies and wars and conflict is what sells papers, unfortunately.
Trumps fault
Iran state TV sees at least 2 news anchors quit: 'Forgive me for the 13 years I told you lies'
At least two Iranian journalists at a state-owned media outlet reportedly resigned from their jobs, and another left a while back, apologizing for "the 13 years I told you lies" to her supporters as Tehran grapples with the fallout from protests stemming from a cover-up of its accidental downing of a Ukrainian airliner.
Gelare Jabbari posted an apology on an Instagram that appears to have been deleted.
“It was very hard for me to believe that our people have been killed," the post read, according to The Guardian. "Forgive me that I got to know this late. And forgive me for the 13 years I told you lies.”

^^^^With credentials like that I'm sure cnn has already hired them.
Of course they admitted the lies, that's likely way to honest for cnn
This disaster is turning into a major goat f**k. Now the mullah's will round up half a dozen low level pawns and hang them for what is actually the responsibility of leadership...

Interesting response on the US -Taliban agreement, by Middle East war vet John Burk. His final words about the #2A and the biggest military really is a great point.
The plan calls for a 14 month withdrawal concept. It won’t last. Something will happen. Right now the US is trying to save face with the international community to make it appear that we agreed upon peace. Mutual agreement which doesn’t highlight a winner or loser.
Experts are saying that to even have negotiations with the Taliban gives them international recognition and validation as an organization. Well, they are. We can sit here and hate the Taliban for what they are, but to deny their presence and what they can accomplish through use of terroristic means would be a lie made from a sense of pride. They (many that now comprise the Taliban) are the enemy, no doubt, but an enemy we were once supporting during the Russian occupation. The US turned their backs on them and as a result, this is what you get.
There are more complexities to this whole situation but this is the reality; we’ve been there for 18 years and as a whole dumped over 7 trillion into the Middle East. Once we eventually withdraw, Taliban will be in charge and run it how they see fit. If the people of Afghanistan wish to be a free people, they’re going to have to make it happen. If they don’t, so be it. US interventionism by keeping a presence of force to curb potential war only puts the bait there for exactly that. Remove them and let what chaos ensue-ensue. It’s eventually going to happen.
The Middle East is NOT worth dying for. Take that as you wish, but it’s not worth one more AMERICAN life or tax dollar.
Side note to the anti-2A types that said if the people rose up against the government they would lose because of what the government has, the Taliban just brought the strongest military in the world to the negotiating table. Think on that.
Real Men of Genius - Today, we solute you 'men' in the Iranian Navy. You finally hit your first ship. Too bad it was your own.
